    The SASX-10 index, which tracks the 10 blue chips of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE), rose 1.74% from a week earlier to end at 744.96 points on Friday.

    (18.05.2012) Austria’s Anton Paar Plans To Start Production in Bosnia in Early 2013 – Bosnian Govt

    BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 18 (SeeNews) – Austrian maker of high-quality measuring and analysis instruments Anton Paar plans to start production in Bosnia's Serb Republic in January, the entity's government said on Friday.

    The Austrian company's production facility will be built in the Sijekovac area and will employ 40, the government said in a statement posted on its website after the entity's prime minister, Aleksandar Dzombic, met with Anton Paar executives.

    (17.05.2012) U.S.-based Energtek Bosnian Unit Gets Fresh Funding

    SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 17 (SeeNews) – U.S.-based hi-tech natural gas solutions provider Energtek said its Bosnian subsidiary Energtek Herz has received additional funding of $325,000 (255,500 euro) to proceed with gas supplies to Mostar-based aluminium smelter Aluminij.

    The additional funding for Energtek Herz was provided by the partner in the company, Sirokij-Brijeg-based developer of aluminum systems Feal, Energtek said in a press release on Wednesday.

    (18.05.2012) Value of Bank Card Transactions in Macedonia Edges down 0.6% M/M in Apr - Table

    SKOPJE (Macedonia), May 18 (SeeNews) - The value of bank card transactions in Macedonia edged down by 0.6% month-on-month to 9.7 billion denars ($200 million/158 million euro) in April while the number of transactions decreased by a monthly 2.8%, central bank statistics showed on Friday.

    On an annual basis, the value of bank card transactions increased by 3.2% in April and the number of transactions was up by 6.3%, data from the central bank showed.

    The MBI-10 index, which tracks the 10 blue chips on the Macedonian Stock Exchange, fell 1.9% from last Friday, closing at 1,917.33 points.

    Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said on Thursday it has affirmed its 'BB/B' long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Macedonia with a stable outlook.

    The recovery rating is '3' while the transfer and convertibility assessment for Macedonia is 'BB+', the ratings agency said in a press release.

    Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and national coordinator of Serbia's cooperation with the EU in the Danube region Bozidar Djelic said today that of 24 municipalities in the Danube area only nine have submitted projects, although the financial construction of the Danube strategy will soon be closed.

    Opening the conference “Danube strategy, ideas and projects”, Djelic pointed out that there is no justification for such inertia in these municipalities, especially bearing in mind that the proposed projects would be the sources of funding.

    (31.03.2010) BULGARIA: Bulgaria PM Accepts Health Minister Resignation

    Bulgaria PM Boyko Borisov has accepted the resignation of Health Minister Bozhidar Nanev after he was charged over the ‘Tamiflu’ scandal on Tuesday.

    Borisov said Wednesday that he had accepted Nanev’s resignation but added that he has not yet been dismissed from his post. He added that more materials regarding the case will be presented after the Easter Holidays.

    “The only chance for our citizens and Europe to believe us is if we are uncompromising. I do not care from which party people come from as long as justice is served,” Borisov concluded.
